Garrice, 30 rue de Rivoli/26 rue Saint-Antoine

If you love shoes (as most girls do) Garrice is a dangerous place to enter. The shoe chain has three stores in Paris carrying brands like Marc by Marc Jacobs, See by Chloé, Repetto, Pura Lopez, Maloles etc. They have a huge selection to choose from and the stores have different shoes (so it is worth visiting more than one). I just bought the first spring pair from See by Chloé....

La Ferrandaise, 8 rue de Vaugirard

The other evening I went to La Ferrandaise, a bistro in the 6th arrondiessement. The restaurant has been voted best bistro in Paris a few years back, so I had pretty high expectations. The food was good, though a little on the meaty side for me (but the men in our group seemed to love it). My dessert was luckely very good - panna cotta with citrus fruit and sorbet on top.

With regards to the atmosphere the restaurant had become a bit turistic (it was full of sligthly older Americaine turists) - that does not necessarily say anything about the food experience, but it did lack that local feel that some other places have in Paris....

Jeanne A, 42 rue Jean-Pierre-Thimbaud

Yesterday evenning I went to Jeanne A which is an epicerie a manger (grocery store where you can also eat). The inside of the store has a cosy feeling to it and you immediately feel very welcome. On the walls different delicacies for sale are displayed and everything looks delicious. As we were not very hungry we decided to go for a charcuterie and fromage plate to share and it was great to see how the waiter took a real interest in choosen the rigth cheese from the very nice cheese refrigerator. Jeanne A is also know for its good wine selection and you can get really good wine here by the glass, so you can try some excellent wines without having to buy a bottle. We also had to get the dessert, which was good, but not the best I have ever tried. Though my desserts are very important for me, I still really liked the restaurant for its relaxed and cosy atmosphere and I am sure we will come back some other time....

Fashion Week Paris 2011

Its been fashion time in Paris for the last couple of days and the city has been buzzing with extremely trendy and well dressed people. It has been really great just wandering around and getting inspired by the fashion on the street. I also went to visit an old friend yesterday, who has a London based company called Ostwald Helgason. I saw their new collection and really liked it! Lots of colour and especially the knitting was amazing. So at least there is something to look forward to, when it starts getting cold again...

Ladurée, 16 rue Royale

Ladureé is one of those amazing stores in Paris that seems as though it has been frozen in time. Founded in 1862 the shop on rue Royale does not look changed by time. The cakes here taste really good and they look like small pieces of art - at least to a sugar lover like me. I like coming here as it feels truly french and because I love the whole Ladureé "world". Everything is packaged in beautiful boxes and even their webpage is a little universe of its own. This is one of the places I keep visiting in Paris....

Square Trosseau, 1 rue Antoine Vollon

Today I went for lunch at the the restaurant Square Trosseau which is located next to a small park in a quiet area close to Bastille. This area actually has a lot of really good restaurant as well as a farmers market, and it is an area worth the visit. Square Trosseau has the perfection location with an outdoor terrase, so that we could sit outside and enjoy the spring sun. The indoors of the restaurant is pretty amazing and look as an old restaurant from the turn of the century. It is a classic french bistro and they serve really good authentic food.

The menu also said that they were famouse for their chocolat mousse, so we naturally had to tried it. Not only was it very good, but they also served way more than we could possible eat. I have to come one day and give it another go....
